AHAHAHA !!!!! Just went thru' the blog and realised that I've really been through lotsa ups and downs since I first started this blog in 2006 . Getting older , fatter , uglier , stupid-er (English and writing skills really going downhill) but more matured , forgiving , 'chin-chye' and well ..... 'bo-chap' . Is that good or bad ? ;D

Anyway , reflective issues aside , just wanna let everyone know that I am STILL alive (sadly) and will be moving back 'home' next week . Well , next next week to be exact 'coz I'm on AL next week . 'Home' was where my working journey all started and it's just so surreal to be back . :D

Life is really funny sometimes ..... U travel a whole long journey and ultimately U come back to the same spot one day . :D

I love my Mum to bits ... but sometimes I juz really dunno what the f*ck is wrong with her . I juz have to resign to my fate that I can NEVER make her happy ...

Had the following SMS conversation with her last week . Totally outta the blue . All started with her demanding one morning that I had to feed the community cats after my morning shift that day , as she had a birthday dinner with some of her frens tat nite . I was not even rude when I replied her wokays !!! I told her nicely I would be coming home late that day as I wanted to go buy some things after work . Then she flared up and said that I was trying to be funny and is being unhelpful . She started lamenting that I "don't allow" her to go Genting , and now I "don't even allow" her to go for her birthday dinner . C'mon everyone , start taking out your tissues and start crying at her sad 'fate' . I was like -_-""" I didn't even say that she can't go for her dinner but I was juz letting her know that I wud be home late tat day , so don't demand that I had to be home by a certain time , HER time to be exact , to feed the community cats . Then , while in the cab to work , I received the following SMS :

Mum : Don't let me suddenly get the wisdom to stop feeding outside cats and oso let all your cats out of the house . Being kind should bring joy , otherwise it has defeat the purpose . I feel workup is because of your bloody attitude , bringing the family into this shit activity and not helping when needed . Don't dare be Randie ! Not only I can throw out all your cats , I can even throw you out ! I owe U nothing now since you are no longer a child and in fact U are owing me for bringing U up !!

Wad the f*cking shit rite ? Who is the one being difficult or unhelpful ??? In the first place , I didn't even say that I was not going to help feed the community cats ! I juz harmlessly mentioned that I will be back late only mah ! Like that also wrong meh ??? And I NEVER "don't allow" her to go Genting nor go for her dumbass dinner !!! Itz a fact that I don't like her to go Genting but I never don't allow her to . Itz totally different meaning wokays ! I mean who will like it when people GAMBLE away their money then tell U they are very poor ? Tink I'm stupid issit ??? Then why shud she get duh when I always tell her I'm poor after spending all my salary on shopping and taxis . She also don't like it wad rite ? But I don't go around saying that she don't allow me to spend MY $ wad . Pfffft ! Anyway , I didn't bother to reply and juz carried on with my journey . Then , when I reached my workplace , I realised that the ward total was low , so I got approval from my manager to clear 1 day AL for that day . I mean so wad I took cab to work , only to take AL . Itz silly but since I don't mind , why should other people do rite ??? I was quite happy in fact , as I could go buy my things AND feed the community cats at their usual feeding time . So itz like killing 2 birds with a stone mah rite ? So I SMS my Mum :

Me : Haha ! I take AL for today . Heading back home soon . So tis evening can feed cats . Yahoo !

Well , guess wad her reply was :

Mum : Hypocrite shit ! I've also cancelled my dinner !

KNN ! So drama ! And she really think I'm so stupid to believe her issit ??? She really think tat I'll believe that she SMS her frens at 7.05AM to cancel their DINNER date . *rolls eyes* Anywayz , I replied :

Me : U can go ahead wad . How am I to know . My ward total remained low . I juz reach my ward . Wahaha .

I was still trying my very best to be nice and polite AND patient to her but she was really pushing it ... :

Mum : Don't cause trouble and use feeding cats to take leave and later blame ME when marked by your hospital ! if U need to take leave just to feed cats after AM shift , it shows that U are not capable , so do not deserve to be a Sister . Drop your study and remain a Staff Nurse cleaning backside as U are meant to be ! So much $ take cab to work then take leave and head home . I think U made yourself a laughing stock in the eyes of your colleagues . Since you have so much $ , consider rent your own flat so that I can sell my house and rid myself of all this shit problem !

It is ALWAYS about $$$ ! Don't she ever get bored talking about nothing BUT $$$ ??? And please lor , I don't think my colleagues are as shallow as HER as to see me as a laughing stock ! Joker yes , but definitely not a stock ! And she always claim that I am the one who got her into the 'shit problem' of community cat feeding . Sometimes I really wonder who got who into this 'shit' ???!!! I started out wif feeding only ONE community cat but now we ended up with almost 20 ... As wad she claims that I seldom help out with the feeding , how did I end up with these 20 ??? Makes no sense lor she ! Obviously she is the one who unintentionally attracted more cats during feeding but this can't be helped wad , we can't turn away a hungry soul rite ??? I mean , I don't even mind that I have to fork out quite a fortune every month to buy cats' supplies and I never once regretted or got angry . I mean I feel good being able to feed some hungry souls and as much as I'd like to do the feeding myself , I really can't because of my erratic work and study schedules and I'm always worn out with all the travelling , so 有钱出钱 , 有力出力 la ! Not as though I don't come out with a single cent AND not help out with the feeding rite ??? At least I did put in some contribution to this 'shit' lor . Still not good enuf one lor . Pfffft ! Anyway , I still tried my best to keep cool and not reply something rude as it'll only make things worse , so I replied :

Me : I already told U I need to buy things after my AM shift so I will be back late . Won't be in time to feed cats . So since the situation permits , I can take AL , my senior NM allow , I can buy my things AND feed the cats , and U can go your dinner . All's well ends well . Aiyah , think what U want lah . I can never make U happy or satisfied anyway .

I mean , fed up rite ???!!! Do also wrong , don't do also wrong ! WTF la ! Anyway , I think the last sentence made an impact , 'coz she gave up and replied :

Mum : Watever U say ! A laughing stock is meant to be !

Yeahhh ! WADEVER lor ! She sees what she sees , she says wad she says , she hears wad she hears , she thinks wad she thinks ... no point trying to reason with such creatures ...

Me : Yeah . I admit , I'm a big time loser , laughing stock , useless , lousy piece of existance like Oi (my tiny cat Nugget) . Wahaha !

I mean , how NOT to b a loser with a specimen like that for a mother ??? I seriously give up liao . I used to cry buckets , thinking why am I such a loser ? Thinking why am I so lousy and not be able to give my parents better lives or more $$$ . I really thought I was the one with a loser problem and I felt truely sad , not 'coz of the names she called me but that I'm such a lousy daughter . But only up till recently I began to realise that NO , I'm NOT the one with the problem , SHE is the one who has ! Never satisfied , never happy , forever critical , no good words for people ... Yes ! I am the normal one !!! And I've stopped crying , and stopped feeling useless . Even though I'm not somebody , at least I'm NOT a nobody lor !

I have not been blogging for a long time but I really do miss doing so . Hahaha !!! Too lazy lah :p . Will try to do so more often . I ALWAYS say that ... :D But at least U know I'm still alive rite ? Well , as if anybody cares ... ;D

I received the above letter from my manager last night when I came on duty. :D It was exactly 3 years back when I last received such a letter. I must say that I'm truely blessed to work wif two such wonderful bosses, who gave me all the opportunities and support in the world. I must not disappoint them. :D

On a more serious note, I'll be starting school again... soon. Yikes. Hope to breeze through it, so that I can receive more of such letters in the NEAR future. ; ) Dun wanna waste anymore time. Met up wif a guy fren for dinner last Friday at Fish & Co. at Changi Airport's T2 & made a very interesting observation .

When the nice waitress was giving recommendations of the day and stating the promos that the restaurant was currently having , she directed the whole 'speech' to me , only glancing at my fren occasionally . My fren told me 'coz after the SIA Stewardess Slapping incident , alot of companies apparantly instructed their female employees to speak more , if not only , to the female customer , shud she be with a male customer . This is 'coz they don't want to risk the same saga from happening again . Ha ! As if I'll go around slapping people .

Anyhows , I was pretty amused by his explanation but what was really funny was at the end , when the bill came , guess wad ..... . The waitress automatically and literally 'served' the bill ..... straight to the guy ! :D

So we concluded , guys are only good for settling the bills . :D Other than tat , the lady has ALL say . :D

Had a good laugh last nite before heading for work ! :)

Conversations between my parents either make U cringe with fear , or sheer laughter . 'Coz either they start fighting , or they really dig one another like crazy . Lucky last nite , both of them were in a good mood . :D

My mum was mentioning to me the other day that since most of our community cats have taken a liking to kibbles instead of wet food these days , she decided to feed most of them dry kibbles from now . However , she would like some kind of container that can put both kibbles and water side-by-side , so that the kitties wun go dehydrated . Wad she had in mind was someting like this :

U know , maybe not exactly like that , but something similar la . Well , think my Dad muz haf eavesdropped or maybe my Mum went to tell him later , but see what he PROUDLY got back :

Wah leow !!! I tell ya , I nearly rolled on the floor laughing when my Mum showed it to me in exasperation . I was damn tired after my 1st nite shift , but this was really too much for me to bear . Kwakwakwa !!! :D And the best thing was the explanation my Dad can come up with , to my Mum :

Mum : (lagi more -_-""") Ya rite ! Then wad ?! Each cat eat like 10 kibbles and have 2 laps of water huh ??? ('coz the palette is really small rite)

Wahaha !!! Happy !!! Thanx to I-suddenly-can't-remember-which-colleague who told me about the sale . Many many thanx ya . :D

The Crocs Expo Sale was on from 14th to 16th November at Singapore Expo , Hall 4A , from 10am to 8pm . Didn't think I'd bother to go 'coz I'm not usually a fan of sales or crowds . But dunno wad juz made me decide to drop by after work on Saturday (15/11/08) to haf a look . Boy was it a good decision ! Had ball of a time there ! Even though the crowd and queueing was overwhelming , it was well worth it sia . Hehehe !!! Have since changed my perspective on sales . Hah ! Sales beware !!! Ranz is coming from now !!! Mwahaha !!! *Laughs evil-ly*

Anyhooos , got some rather good buys . All things were going at rock bottom prices I tell ya . Really almost 80% off ! I shud know better 'coz I am a frequent shopper at Crocs . So wat the sale only had older models and lousy colors . Good enuf for me . Hehehe !!! ;D Let the following few pics do the talking .

Tat bad okay . Was like totally bored and hungry and freezing and tired , juz to pay for my loot on my Day 1 . Stuck in the Q for like nearly 2 hours .

And thankfully someone decided to abandon the Ithacas in the middle of some aisle , ah bo I wud haf only had the Cleo . Saw the 3 pairs of Ithacas lying there , unwanted , so I picked them up and bingo , ALL my size ! Heh ! God-send or something . Hehehe !!! It was funny I tell ya . I was beaming away , not believing my luck . :)

Er-hemmm ... If U tot I wud be satisfied already , no lor . Was tossing and turning the whole nite , dreaming of more Crocs . Then woke up early this AM (16/11/08) and tot "Wat the heck ! I AM GOING AGAIN !!!" Hehehe !!! ;D So showered and left in a hurry , only to reach the sale near the opening time . If U tot I was kiasu , I tell ya , I'm considered slow already lor . There were like thousands of people ahead of me in the queue to get in already lor ! Ha ! We were at the neighbouring hall , waiting to get in . I was quite demoralised when I saw how far behind I was , but I tot , cannot give up ! Heh ! And my perserverance paid off . Take a deep breath ...

Hah ! There U haf it . My Crocs shopping adventure . :D Now I really appreciate sales and the fact that I'm bestowed wif Size 9 feet 'coz not many gals can fight for footwear wif me !!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA !!! :D Can't say the same for clothing size though 'coz there ARE MANY gals same or bigger size than me . Haizzz ...

Definitely bags & shoes are my best friends :D . Well , can't afford diamonds or cars YET mah , so guess sporty bags and rubber slippers shall stand in in the meantime :D .

Tired as I was yesterday (13/09/08) evening after work , made my way down to Vivocity's Crocs shop by cab , hoping to get some new designs . The cabby , after learning about my reason to go to Vivocity , remarked that he can sense that I'm a very determined person . If I want something , I 'die-die' muz get it one , no matter the price I haf to pay or the sacrifices I haf to make :D . Quite true in a way , but I NEVER resort to underhand means to achieve my goals one okay . I may force myself to give plastic smiles at times but I dun go ALL out to rub shoulders or noses or wat people call 'net-working' ? Uh-uh , not me . But for material things that I want , I dun mind paying a higher price juz to get it . As long itz quality suits my expectations . And when I really wan something , I won't wait for the price to drop before getting it . Once itz launched , I'll go get it if itz within my financial means . Mwahaha !! Bite me . Anyway , was chatting along wif the cabby and he was quite shocked to hear that I dun mind paying like $50+ for a pair of rubber slippers . I sheepishly told him that Crocs are comfy and durable la . *Pause* I dun care wat U detractors out there think , I like 'em Crocs , ugly or expensive or not . Blehhh !!! Dear Crocs , U definitely got Ranz as a firm supporter :D . Anywayz , can U imagine my disappointment when I couldn't find a single pair of wad I wanted at Vivocity ??? Blehhh blehhh !!! -_-" All I ended up wif were 5 big oranges for the mother :'( . Was in the MRT when I decided 'die-die-die' muz get my Crocs , so headed to Marina Square even though it was like 6 pm+ and I HAVEN'T had my breakfast , lunch nor dinner :D . Made a bee-line to the Crocs shop in Marina Square and was happy enuf to get myself these 2 beauties :

Tat said , starting work tomolo (25/08/08) . YAY !!! :D Lucky enough to be posted BACK (well , well , well) to Level 6 , to a nice ward & wif nice staff . :D Kindda excited and expectant . Really glad to be back to my first 'love' Ortho-Surgical , as well as to be near my 1st ward , where some of my closest frens are . :D Happy happy HAPPY !!! :D Really hoping my lucky streak continues . :)

Have juz finished packing my mamasan bag of stuff to lug back to my new ward tomolo . Hah ! Lots of other stoopid stuff to do :

*Ranz is bawling her eyes out* :'( Issit too late to say "I love and miss U" to NYP , my classmates and my lecturers ??? :'( OMG !!! *Wails again*

It had been a wonderful 8 months , albeit the crazy schedule , and well , some looney classmates :D . But nothing is perfect eh ? :) Well , here are some snapshots of our last day of school (22/08/08) . Surprisingly , EVERYONE turned up :D .

NYP Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Medical / Surgical) January 2008 Cohort . U guys rock ! :D Our group is like the biggest wif 30 students .

My subgroup , Group A3 , wif our co-ordinator Mrs. Wan-Koo . Poor Mrs. Wan , always kena driven to 'tears' by us . Oei , tears of laughter la . Can't really remember any instance that she was angry wif my group . Haha ! 'Coz this group got all the jokers and looneys . Literally . ;D Also , this group has 3 of the 4 tallest girls in the entire class . Namely , Fah babe , Fisz babe & oinky me . So itz quite hard to miss our group 'coz the 3 of us are always standing out like sore thumbs :D .

1 of the 2 sub-subgroups of my subgroup . Huh ??? If U get what I mean ;D . Will miss this bunch +++ . We always fight like crazy over school work or really stoopid matters , but we make up really fast after tat . Hahaha , crazy la us . Where to find sia ? Hope we keep in touch always and always go for our Nasi Ayam Penyet :) .

Wishin' & Hopin' .....

Isn't it scary when U were juz wishing very hard for something , and it comes true or U really get it ?! I mean , itz like the lucky stars are juz shining on U , no one but U . Call me paranoid or wad , but I'm kindda freaked . Not to mention worried , 'coz good things dun really come to me for nothing . I'm afraid after I get wad I wished for , I will lose something or someone tat I love . Hope not 'coz if tatz the case , I really rather NOT get wad I want . So , prayz that things are really starting to be 一切完美 for me . :D

First , I managed to pass all my modules so far . Including the dreaded Health Assessment assessment that I mentioned earlier this month . Thank goodness that that 'strict' lecturer's bark was juz worst than her bite :D . Despite her giving alot of feedback , I did not need to re-do the assessment , unlike quite a few of my unfortunate classmates . And also heard from other groups that she failed other students , so am I plain lucky or wad ? Maybe she really pitied my pathetic , fat face . Whatever the case , I really thank her and my lucky stars . Juz left wif the Research and Clinical Attachments modules . Hope I can pass these final 2 hurdles .

Then , now that I'm motivated to study as much as I can (after being inspired by some of my lecturers in NYP) , I really hope to get more sponsorships to do so . Was juz telling a fren tis morning tat I really hope to get sponsored for my degree , then guess wad ??? My manager called me in the afternoon to inform me that my matron-in-charge wanted me to try applying for some exclusive scholarship offered by the Australian Imperial Force to do a Nursing degree at Curtin University , Perth , in 2009 . :O Okay 1-2-3 , everyone throw your heads back and laugh and say "Please la Ranz , U'll never get it !" . Hahaha , thank you . Need some wakening slaps . I am truely truely honoured that my manager and matron still think of and highly recommend me , even though I've not been physically working in my organization for the past 7 months . Really thankful to them for all the wonderful opportunities that they've showered me all along :D . I am truely blessed . But that said , I really dun tink I stand a chance 'coz my results all along are horrible . Pass la but horrible lor . Really shameful :p . And not to mention that the last recipient of this scholarship award (2 years ago) was also from my organization and she ended up being the top scholar or something . OMG !!! So I really think itz a HUGE mistake to wanna send me . Haha , throw face sia . Anyhowz , shall not disappoint them nor pass the golden opportunity . Shall juz give it a shot and try applying . But wun be disappointed if I dun get it . And shall juz hope for the best :) . Wish me luck k , peeps ? Thankooo ...

5 am now . A cool morning and the crickets are chirping . Nice & peaceful time to sleep , but I choose to blog , while my mind is still fresh . So here goes ...

Juz completed 6 weeks of attachments in NUH on Friday (18/07/2008) . Gonna miz the place alot . The cheap , yummy Malay food , some frenly staff , the neat surroundings , but most importantly , the plentiful 'yummy eye-candy' . *Wails* Well , like itz always said , "all good things come to an end" . Nothing is forever . But I juz hope better things come my way . :D In all aspects of my life that is . I really wanna be a happier and more accomplished person . Dun wanna be a loser my whole life . *Prays hard* :D

Remember the bad bruise (to my right arm) I sustained unknowingly ? Well , itz much better now . :D So hey , I dun haf some blood clotting disorder la . But itz sure taking a long time to heal . The pic on the left was taken on 13/07/08 , and the pic on the right was juz taken yesterday (19/07/08) . Much better right ? But I tink this bruise shocked many people . First were my frens . They all went "AIYOH !!!" :D . Then came my mum , who screamed "AIYOOOOO !!! U OKAY OR NOT ???" :D :D . Then when I went for my monthly facial on 12/07/08 , not 1 but 4 (!!!) therapists were also shocked when they saw my bruise . Haha ! Had to explain myself 4 times that day . Tatz bad !" , when we met up on 12/07/08 nite . -_-" Thanks for all the concern and sorry to make U guys worry , but I'm very much okay la . :D Juz hope it goes off soon so that I can wear my short sleeved tops without feeling sheepish . Many of them oso thot that I was beaten by my boyfren or something . MWAHAHAHA !!! So juz to clarify , I dun haf a boyfren currently , but even if I haf , and if he ever beats me , I'll make sure this kindda bruise oso appears ON him ! On his face that is !!! Mwahaha !!! 1) When people say that I've lost weight , recently that is . Heard it 3 times , on different occasions and by different people , this week alone . Got meh ? I sure still feel fat :D . But honestly , come to think of it , my appetite has been like yo-yo-ing recently due to school work stress and inconsistant meal times , so maaaaaybe ba ?

2) When people have this thought all along that I'm a good drinker , of alcohol I mean . Hahaha !!! Now I realllly dunno where that came from :D ! Juz heard it from 2 of my classmates yesterday (04/07/08) . They say that I looked like the sort who can hold her liquor very well . Mwahahaha , so I told them , seriously , I haven't tried 'coz I dun fancy the smell and taste of alcohol or liquor or wine or watever sh*t there is . I dun like the rancid taste (haf only tried red and white wine & mild 'beer' like Jolly Shandy only - and found them all yucky and a total waste of money !) and I really dun appreciate the possible after effects , which is like to get totally wasted from being drunk (e.g. end up sleeping wif some unknown guy , blabber nonsense , puke like a merlion , or worst still , go knock someone down while driving etc.) . Uh-uh , no way ! But I sure can down jugs of Milo , Diet Coke , Iced-tea or good old Iced-water if U wan . Hahahaha !!! Okay , enuf laughing Sammy ;D . On the serious note , I was quite concerned when I heard this . I mean , do I portray such an image ??? Like a party-girl ??? Eeeew , I'm very 'guai' (goody) one leh !! Really !!! *sniggers*

3) When people ALWAYS have this thinking and say that I'm a smart and hardworking person . Now 1-2-3 , everyone throw back your heads and start laughing !!! K.O.-ed After Assessment .....

Till now (2.20 am) . Got home from school at around 5 pm (04/07/08) . Gorged myself silly on food 'coz was kindda displeased wif my own performance during my Health Assessment assessment :'( . Haiyah , whole assessment started out bad lo . First , I couldn't bring in my cue cards 'coz they were too 'detailed' juz 'coz they had the picture of the human body on it . Huh ??!! Waste my time and effort making it . But thank goodness I've got my 'live' cue card , my beloved partner Po Lam babe !!! Thanks a million , lovely ! Would haf like failed flat wifout U lor . Thank U so much for being my partner :D . Pause ... juz in case U readers are interested , for this assessment , we gotta BARE ourselves to our partners for assessment as well as to the lecturer sia -_-" . Literally BARE lor , 'coz muz assess the boobies as well . Haizzzz , fats and all :( . Anyway , so tat was my first sway , the lack of cue cards . Then , I kena-ed a strict lecturer !!! OMG !! Really muz go buy 4D sia -_-" . Was hoping the whole week I wun get her 'coz of her infamous nasty-ness , sarcasm and strictness . And was happy not to see her around during the waiting time , outside the assessment room . Till the very last minute she came waltzing by , which made my jaw drop and my heart stop sia . She still can look at me and give a little smile sia ! 'Coz I smiled and greeted her whenever I saw her during attachments , so maybe she like recognised me ! OMG ! Me and my 'frenliness' ! Did me in this time :( . Anyway , was still hoping I wun get her , but unfortunately for me , she juz like made a bee-line for me when the assessors were assigned to the students !! My heart sank immediately and I knew right away tat I wun do well . Haizzz ! Really fated sia ! Pause again ... tatz why U people better dun hope too hard NOT to get something or someone , 'coz most likely , U'll GET it or him or her !!! Arghhh !!! Anyway , I was hopeful , for a while , when she stepped out of my station for a while and another lecturer came in , thinking I had no assessor yet . Po Lam and I were like , "PHEW !! Got hope liao ." . But this nicer lecturer couldn't keep still , had to walk out of my station oso , to chat wif her students in other stations ! Then U guessed right , the other lecturer came back !!! :'( And she was quick to start signing her name on my assessment form . So there and then , my fate kena sealed liao lor . The other nicer lecturer came back and told her that she's assessing me , but this not-so-nice one said , " No , I AM taking her . I signed my name on her form already ." -_-" See , I told U , she was very determined to assess me rite ? Haizzz ... My groupmate later told me maybe she saw the potential in me . Haha , yeah , like the potential to fail lor . Hahaha , she muz be thinking , "Ahhhh !!! Early in the morning , this toad good to fail . Whooopie !!" Hahahaha !!! Anyhows , my tots were all in a mess when the assessment started . Really all jumbled up 'coz really disheartened liao . And thanks to her constant interruptions , my tots really flew away sia . Towards the end , I really like gave up and juz anyhow completed the assessment . Haizzzz !! Then came her feedback , which I tot were quite lenient and kind from her usual times . She said some of my techniques were not quite correct and I missed out some steps but I managed to finish all systems . So , I really dunno if I passed or failed sia . We wun know till we get our transcripts . And like I said , she was quite kind today 'coz she can joke with us and say that "no news is good news la !" . Which meant that if we dun hear anything from our own group co-ordinator subsequently , it meant that we pass lor . Haizzzz . Dunno nid to wait for how long . And I really hope I dun need to re-take the darn assessment . Wish hard for me peeps :( . Okay , then the last sway was that I nearly lost 2 library books !! In my jittery state , I left them outside the assessment room , only to return and find them gone !!! I was like , "Oh SHIT !!! My day is damned bad !" Luckily , it was the kind students and lecturer of the class next door who had picked them up and kept them safely till I approached them , hoping that they saw it . And all that was made possible by my lovely partner Po Lam again , who suggested to konked-out me , to try asking that class . My saviour babe !!! :D My guiding light when my thoughts were all messed up . Hehehe . Haizzz , so now , juz hope that I can pass the assessment wifout having to re-take it lor . Pass enuf liao , no nid A or B , juz D I happy liao :'( .

Handsome Scrawny !!! He's not new la . Was one of my community cats before . But he always got into fights with another cat (called Rocky by his caregiver , my neighbour H) and always sustained bad injuries , so we often had to lug him home to recuperate . So , slowly , Scrawny got so attached to the house and the gals maybe (as in my other 5 cat babes) , till he refused to be a stray anymore . Always sit outside our house and cry . Haizzz , so we took him in as well lor . And ya , so tat means I've got 6 felines , 1 canine and 1 porcine (me la !) in the house now . Tatz why my parents always complain that they're living in a zoo . Hahaha . And I pity them . Hahaha . Hey , I'm not mad wokays . I mean I know some people will be thinking that we are , living wif so many animals . But I tell ya , animals are natural de-stressers and are a joy to live with . They provide so much joy wif their antics and itz good to juz share watever U can with the less fortunate . One of my fantasies is to be able to open a home , some day (in my dreams maybe) , to house all unwanted animals and humans . To provide them with food , shelter and comfort for the rest of their lives . To make them feel that they belong to somewhere safe . :D Tatz really my wish for every living thing in the world sia . Anyhows , today's (28/06/2008) 'group discussion' didn't go too well . Due to some redundant idiots who only know how to yak-ka-ty yak-ka-ty yak . NYP shud really abolish this damned research thingy . Itz juz making enemies outta everyone . Oh well , anyway here are some excerpts of the heated exchange of words I had wif 2 of the most redundant idiots in the group :

Wif Idiot 1 (btw , I was addressing the group in general , but Idiot 1 got so defensive 'coz I think she felt as guilty as charged , hence the defensive mode) -

Idiot 1 : All along we (I tink she meant SHE ba !) thought U were going to cover the sampling part (of the research project we're doing) 'coz U were the one who worked out everything .

Me : Ya, but doesn't mean I have to present it wat ?! I don't care ! I'm not going to present the sampling part 'coz it was just 'coz no one wanted to do it , so I took it upon myself to do it by following other people's example . I myself don't understand a single word of it so how U want me to present ? I juz did it to get things moving , 'coz everyone was juz waiting for someone else to do it !

Idiot 1 : Why must U put it like that ?! Tat U dun wan to do this and dun wan to do tat ? This is a group work and that's why we are all here on a Saturday to work things out .

Me : Precisely ! Because always itz the same people working !!! U think I like to come down on a Saturday too ??? I've got better things to do sia !

Okay , in case U're wondering , this f*cking Idiot 1 had like the simplest task in the blardy project , which was to churn out a pathetic letter , but all she did week after week was to bug me wif the tiniest details of her blardy letter !!! OMG !! Then mite as well I do it myself rite ? No kidding U know !!! It was really irritating and the other group members really felt my sorrow I tell ya . -_-" I dun like to make a scene but it was too much sia . The way she put was tat I was being mean and choosing my presentation parts , but honestly I felt I had the right , over HER at least !!! 'Coz I was the main co-ordinating person MOST of the time (and very conveniently declared the group leader) , being the nagger and bad person ALL the time , initiater of meetings wif lecturers ALL the time also , and the list goes on . But she ??? Juz 1 pathetic letter she also can't cope ! Want to talk so much some more . Like she was the ONE doing the toughest task and doing the co-ordinating sia ! Go eat shit , back in your own country please !!! I dun usually discriminate but I tell ya , I'm really fed up wif her already ! She's the one who will always push other people to do dirty jobs but she'll never volunteer to do it ! And she's got tis whiny drawl some more ! Give her 2 tight slaps then she know !

Okay , wif Idiot 2 (the irritating toad I blogged about some time back , who screeches like a hyena and makes the most stupid suggestions !) -

Idiot 2 (shouting some more) : U know , U all make me feel like I'm stoopid (she IS I tell ya !) and that I'm not doing anything (basically she IS not doing anything . Okay , gotta admit I assigned her a tough segment , but all she did was get someone else to do it and make it look like she did it and she had to travel ALOT in the process . *rolls eyes*) !!!

Me (shouting back 'coz buay ta-han liao) : Tat is how U perceive us ! It is how U YOURSELF think ! We never said that wad . U always have your paranoid thinking that people say U are stoopid or is angry with you . Itz your own thinking !

Idiot 2 (still shouting) : Ya ! So I'm schizo (as in schizophrenic) issit ?!

Me (voice dropping considerably) : Thank you ! (as in I couldn't agree more that she IS schizo)

The last part nearly sent the others into peals of laughter sia . If they had whiskers , I tink they will be twitching like mad . :D 'Coz they also couldn't agree more that Idiot 2 is juz a nut-case ! My group mates can't stand me sometimes 'coz I'm the perfectionist and apparantly sooo ... on the ball [but hey , they admit that I'm important in the group 'coz I get things going or not they'll be lost wokays :)] . But everyone can't stand Idiot 2 'coz she's juz plain idiotic lor . Spastic would be a better word but itz mean to use it on her .

Genie Had a Tumble .....

My heart nearly dropped to my toes . :( When I heard the rough tumbling sound of the baby falling & howling . And my heart lagi dropped further (to the void deck maybe) when she started hobbling away , howling more and couldn't weight bear on her left hind leg . :'( :'( For a moment I tot her leg looked crooked like it was broken or something . And I saw a small bleeding spot . :'( :'( :'(

Thankfully after a rest , she seem okay . Still abit hobble-ly but not meowing in pain anymore . And she ate her dinner well . But then again , this gal has a high treshold for pain and suffering . :'(

Will observe her overnight and see whether she needs an X-ray .

And no more drawing of curtains for me for a while . 'Coz itz partly my fault she fell . I went to draw my curtains 'coz I was trying on some new buys . Then the orange kaypoh had choose that moment to jump behind the curtains to kaypoh and watch the construction going on outside . Then I think she missed her footing or something , while trying to jump off BLINDLY from my lap-top BEHIND the curtains , hence getting caught wif the wires and making that tumble . :'( :'( :'( :'(

Arghhhhh !!! I'm so so freaking , f*cking , watever shit , pissed and disappointed with my 'beloved' mother . I can really shed tears of hurt and disappointment . :'( What meant to be my sincere attempt to try make her happy , simply turned out disastrous and just made monsters outta the both of us . All thanks to Devil Moolah !

I HATE YOU , MONEY !!! I REALLY REALLY HATE YOU !!! *Sobs* :'(

Wokays , in case U guys dunno wat the hell I'm talking about , here goes ... . Mummy 'dearest' longs to change the stove in the kitchen 'coz of itz super bad state (even though there's not much cooking done in our house , I really dunno how come it can end up in itz current pitiful state) . We went around looking for stoves a few weeks back and discovered that stoves these days are kindda expensive , so I thought it would be better to get those built-in type of cooker hob , hood and oven . Works out to almost the same price as a stove anyway and more stylo mah . But the thing is that we'll have to hack and re-renovate the cabinets to accomodate the new built-in kitchen gadgets . Seeing how badly the Mummy longs for a new kitchen (even though she didn't say it , her looks said it all) , I volunteered to pick up the tab 'coz she kept saying she has got no money . Nevermind the fact that she HAS the money to go Genting , buy 4D & To-to & shares and even intending to get a HD LCD dunno wat not television set just for the fun of it . Okay , then I told her my budget was just like $4k for the whole renovation AND the appliances 'coz that was almost all that I can afford with my pathetic salary , after I return to work in August that is ('coz only then I'll get back my allowances and increment due to my additional qualification) . Then our excitement was shortlived 'coz we realised that wif that budget , it would be almost impossible to get anything decent . So , after a night of serious calculation and giving up of thoughts of getting things for myself , I decided to increase my budget to $6k , hoping that everything should be able to be covered with the new amount . Of course the mother was very happy and sweet with my new budget la . So typical . Pffffft !

Anyhow , to cut the long crap short , we settled for some lousy XXX designing company 'coz I guess itz the only place we know that accepts interest-free installment payments via credit card . Initially , the mother was the one who said that this company was lousy and reckoned that itz quality would be just as bad and not worth the costs , so might as well go find some place else . Then I reminded her that other places might not have the installment payments thingy . Then she was the one who volunteered to pay first but I have to pay her back 'coz itz like her coffin money thingy ? Then I said of course la , 'coz I sincerely wanted to buy the damn thing for her 'coz of my love for her . Then I dunno wat sort of corrupted thoughts went thru her mind , in the end she say better not , better just stick to the lousy XXX designing company . U know , itz just so typical of suspicious , money-minded her ! She didn't say it till just now when we fought , but I could just read through her !!! She must haf felt that she had better NOT volunteer her money in case I don't pay her back , which I swear with my cats' lives that I really DO NOT harbour such thoughts okay ! Maybe only people like her will la . My intentions were just to get something decent with the most reasonable price no matter who pays first , 'coz ultimately I AM the one footing the whole damn bill . But no lor , she just likes to think things her own bloody way !

I hope U guys are not lost by now ?

Anyhow , again , the guy from the lousy XXX designing company dropped by just now to go through again with us how we intended our cabinets to be . In the end , the way he quoted the prices , the whole thing was definitely going to exceed my budget !!! But the mother was very quick to volunteer and promise that we'll go down by this evening to make payments , as though she's so afraid that I'll not get the kitchen for her . U know what ? I tell U , she is RIGHT !!! I don't think I'll get her the damn kitchen afterall !!! What for ?! What for make this type of I-really-dunno-how-to-describe-her person happy ??? The last nail that she drove into me , was that she was so determined to make FULL use of the $6k , like not even wanting me to get a single cent discount like that . U know , what I mean is that just because I volunteered $6k , she die die gotta spend it ALL like tat . Help me save a few tens of dollars also cannot ! Bloody fuck !!! I was so blardy pissed till I really couldn't stand it ! So I irritated her back by emphasising that ANY CENT more than $6k , I am NOT going to pay ! I mean firstly I've really got no more money leh ! Then more importantly , why should I ???!!! Haiyah , I really dunno lah . Maybe U all will ask me to just give in to her lah , afterall she's my mother and she's so old and all that . But I really don't see the point lor . She's never happy wif what I do , nor satisfied one lor !!! Really ! I can even forsee that if I did eventually settle for this lousy XXX designing company , and one day the cabinets juz collapse due to its supposedly inferior quality , she will definitely blame me for it !!! Ah then nag nag nag and saying as usual I'm so stupid and bla bla bla . It's the usual case lor . :'(

I'm just so so sad now . I should have just let her get her damned stove then all these wouldn't have happened . :'( Anyway , everything just ended with her throwing of all things , haizzz , the calculator at me . As if I'm not vexed enough with calculations . :'( And with her saying "Now there's even more reason NOT to leave the house to U !" Huh ? Juz because I didn't give her a new kitchen ? And I ever mentioned that I love our current house alot right ? So she sometimes mentions , when she's in her kinder state of mind , that she'll leave me half of the house after she dies . Ermm , if U don't understand , U gotta ask me in person 'coz itz hard to explain in words la .

Haizzz ... . So any kind souls out there with any words of advice on what I should do now ? But I still really hope to get her a new kitchen 'coz I still love her as my mother . But it just have to be within my means . And any lobangs on how I can get the following kitchens for $6k , no more no less , are gratefully welcomed . :D

Always comparing with the better off , always comparing Dad to other people's more capable husbands , always comparing me and Sis to other better behaved & better off children , always comparing this and that ! Compare compare compare !!! NEVER satisfied with life . ALWAYS making cutting remarks and feeling gleeful ~~when people get hurt~~ to hurt people ! Example :

Mum : "Haizz ... If your stoopid father didn't opt out (of some ancient pension scheme) last time , we'll be so much better off now . No need to slog like mad . What to do ? Marry this type of man , have these type of lousy children . All like blocks of lard , cannot move , not open to changes ."

How to reason with this type of person huh ?? I really try to give all allowance to the fact that she really had a very very bad and unhappy childhood and life story . And maybe it's a fact that Dad , Sis & I don't perform up to HER expectations (or maybe juz me at least ?) . And she has really contributed alot to the family in monetary terms . But do that give her a 'passport' to behave like how she's behaving now ?? Doesn't it make sense that even more she'll want her own children to have a happier childhood ? But no lor , tatz not the case . Arghhh ... Please tell me ! Anybody ?! Maybe how she behaves is totally acceptable and I'm wrong to say she's wrong ? Tell me PLEASE ! :(

She has her times of nice-ness and love for us . But I feel her horrid times of nastiness are really enough to overwrite her good .

But what I can't accept is : that she comments all my friends are just like me (?) , she always say I'm senile (??) , she threatens me wif things that I love , e.g. : if I dun do certain things or if I argue wif her and she can't win , she'll threaten to release my cats out 1 by 1 (????!!!!) and she really literally damages or throws around my stuff , especially my favourite stuff juz to 'get back' at me (?????!!!!!) . Even right up till now , when I'm at 29 ?!

Okayyy , I know some of U will probably say "Ya lah , your own fault wat . Who ask U to be such a loser ? Your Mum is right to behave like that . She's already very kind to U lor , letting U keep so many cats ." or "U lah , always so playful and naughty as a child , can't study one . Spend so much of her $ on tuition and still get lousy grades ." or "Can't take it then move out lah . Ownself don't move out then make so much noise ." . Oh well , U think I wanna be such a loser meh ? U think I don't try to be a better person ? Well , I try , maybe not my best but I DID try okay ... but itz NEVER enough . And U think I enjoy staying on to endure such shit from her or making her "so miserable" ? I would run away , as far as I can if I could , but I'm just not earning enough to have my own place and I just love our current house alot . Can't bear to simply shift away from a nice house that I'm satisfied with (unlike her) just to get away from her . And maybe I shud juz lower my high expectations and juz go and marry some Thomson , Dickyson or Hairy juz to get out of this shit . Poor her got a total of 22 hours and 48 minutes (!!!) just to get to from Singapore--->Tokyo--->USA Washington DC---> Phoenix Arizona to meet her bro (who's there on a SAF stint) & sis-in-law . *Gasp* Think I'll juz go mad if I had to travel like her . Seriously , I'd juz pay abit more to get better flights wif SIA than to go thru' all the transit-ing sia . But at least she's living my dream right now , which is to go to USA . :'( Dream on Ranz , dream on . Anyway , hope The Nerd reaches there safely and enjoys her time there and comes back safely wif lotsa stories to tell me :D .

Da parents are back . Just stepped into da house . Back from their usual break in Genting . Could sense some sombre atmosphere almost immediately . True enough , the mad woman (da mother) started lashing out at me over a very trivial matter .

Hiyeee ... Juz taking a 'breather' from my 'doing-nothing' to blog abit . :D Yeah , school is abit lighter these days , since we've completed and passed 1 module and gotten over some tests and assignments . Ahhh ... this IS life ! :D

I also dun hate my course co-ordinator anymore , now that I realise she was pushing us so hard in the beginning so that we can have an easier time now . And I've come to understand that she has her limitations from the blardy school also lah . Poor her . Hated by us with no choice , and choosing not to further explain herself 'coz we were like a bunch of whiney kids . Actions truely regrettable , for me at least . :p Really admire her courage AND knowledge . Gotta admit that though she's super 'on' and hyper , she's really knowledgable lor . Wish to be someone like her , full of theory and skills . But neah , cannot make it one lah . Limited brain capacity . Juz wanna advance my studies and upgrade myself to earn more $ only , so that my parents , pets and myself can have a much better life . :)

Frens , colleagues and supervisors always tell me that I can be a good leader , a NC or a NM . Haha !! Can I ? Will I ever ? Really hope I can . I used to NOT bother about being 1 of those top people , juz wanted to waste my lousy life away being contented with my lousy , lowly salary . But after seeing on many instances how $ work wonders , I've since changed my mindset . Ermmm , at this instant that is , hope the motivation lasts though . :D I wanna earn $$ , loads of it , by myself !! And the only way is to work towards the top . I dun wanna be a ADN lah , tat will be too impossible for dumb ass me , but a NC or NM would be good enough . Hope things go well as I hope they'll be . Dun wanna be looked down upon my whole miserable life lah . And to all my Nursing frens who are reading this , please please dun think that Ranz has gone mad and la-di-da about being a high-flyer . I'm not wokays ? Talking about being a leader , haizzzz , I've been nominated by my classmates last Thursday (27/03/08) to represent the class for a meeting with our school's dunno wat director on the ~~8th~~ 28th April 2008 for some dunno wat feedback session . Haha !! Dunno wat , dunno wat . Tatz a good start ya ? :D Why me ?? Issit 'coz I'm one of the vocal ones in class ? Always first to argue wif the co-ordinator or to give opinions ? Is that what I get for being frank ? Hope their nomination was a positive thing and not something like "you always like to comment rite ? Nah ! Now give U big chance to comment . Neah neah neah neah neah !!" :( Blehh !! Well , AT LEAST I'm no chickadee . I took on the responsibility willingly 'coz I'm pretty used to audits and interviews anyway . Unlike some others who were initially 'arrowed' , they literally became softies and whiney ninnys leh !! Ha ! Despise these losers lor . Usual times they will make stoopid comments and suggestions that will make any corpse stand , but when given responsibilities , or dun say responsibilities lah , juz simple small tasks , they will juz whimper and whine and come up with all sorts of f*cking excuses to push it to another person . WTF ?! Well , I've learnt to accept these creatures , 'coz itz only with them around can true workers surface and prove their worth . But juz dun get on my nerves too much 'coz they'll probably receive a painful acid tongue lashing from me . Wahaha !! Not proud of that lah but I've mellowed down alot already k ? Nowadays I juz heck care till I tak boleh tahan lor . Hehehe ! Also I hate hate hate those whiners who will juz push others to do things that benefit them the most . Just a short short update to say that after 2 energy draining assignments , 3 nerve-wreacking ICAs (a.k.a. tests) , multiple meaningless presentations and an attack of pneumonia , I'm still very much alive !! ;D Am I a survivor or what ? *grins gleefully*

Uh , well , there's still plenty more of assignments , exams and presentations coming and I really hope Lady Luck will still shine on me and let me pull through each of them smoothly , like those that are already over . :( *crosses fingers*

Looking forward to seeing my ward people again next Friday (28/03/2008) . Hope they still remember me . :p And hope that I got the energy to drag myself all the way to the East after a 'hard' day at field visit . ;D

Down Wif Pneumonia .....

Chance discovery .

Was actually feeling wayyyy better than last week , but tot hell I needed to get some medicine for that irritating gunk of phlegm that has been keeping me awake for the past few nights . Really got that horrid drowning feeling U know ? So , this morning (27/02/08) I finally moved my ass and went to the Polyclinic wif da Mum in tow . She wanted to do some long overdue routine blood tests lar . Was actually tinking of juz going to the GP but lucky Mommy say better go back to my workplace or to the Polyclinic 'coz she tinks I need a chest x-ray . I tell ya , ALWAYS TRUST YOUR MOTHER'S WORDS !! :D So I did , go to the Polyclinic , 'coz itz nearer to my place . And boy did I wish I had gone back to my workplace instead . Why ? Ya lah ! 'Coz of the wait lar . Spent like 5 hours there !! Oh well , can't grumble . Own fault for being lazy . But U win some , U lose some lah . Haven't seen such a reasonable medical bill in like eons . :D 1 chest x-ray , 1 full blood count , tonnes of medication , 2 days MC and a consultation wif a very nice lady doctor was WELL worth the moolah , which I shall say is less than $50 ? Wahaha !! Big help .

Anyhoos , to cut the long story short , I'm stuck wif a whole bag of medications and I need to return for a repeat chest x-ray next Wednesday (05/03/08) . Haizzz , hope I can spare the time 'coz school starts again next week :( . And , I juz wanna declare , I LOVE MY MOMMY , even though she's unreasonable at times :D . Itz during these type of times of needs that she'll show how much she truely cares . So guilty for being the bad brat who always breaks her heart , or so she says lar :p . I was shocked momentarily when she cried a little (when I wasn't looking) after hearing the doctor say I'm down wif pneumonia . She didn't know I was that seriously ill . Hey , I'm not lah , seriously seriously !! I feel better than last week really ! But who knew ... . Anyway , I know why she felt so strongly about the whole thing . 'Coz when she herself was 29 (and I was juz a tot of 4 years) , she nearly died of pneumonia too !! Really !! I can still vaguely remember her lying so sick on the hospital bed in SGH . :'( And when she survived the ordeal , she told me (when I was bigger oso lar) that when she was fighting for survival , she prayed to her religion to let her live on just another 10 years , juz to see little ME grow abit bigger . :'( A mother's love !! :'( Well , she's since lived past that 10 years and I pray that she'll have many many more 10 years 'coz I really love her alot even though we argue most of the time . :D Hey , we have our funny times oso lah , not juz whole day fight 1 lah . And watz so touching is that juz now while walking home from the polyclinic , she held my hand and said solemnly "Ah Roon (stop laughing Sammy) , if U ever die b4 me , U muz remember to take me and Bibi Boy (my dog) and all the cats along leh ."

Down and Out .....

I'm sick ... AGAIN !!! :( Quite a bad attack of URTI this time round . Had a little sore throat on Wednesday (20/02/08) , and subsequently developed fever (ranging from 37.7 to 38.8 degrees) and lost my voice from Thursday (21/02/08) till today (24/02/08) . Thankfully the yellowish phlegm-y cough lasted only 1 day . But I'm still coughing like a dusty chimney now and I get really really out of breath and light-headed when I lie flat on my bed , or if I walk too much . Bah !! Feel like an invalid . Now really understand how those respi patients suffer . Just hope I dun develop asthma or something . Been self medicating with some balance antibiotics and Panadol from last year and hope I'll get better .

Falling sick twice in the two months since I started school is wayyy ... too much to bear lah . This NEVER happened when I was working . Seriously ? Seriously ! I'm not kidding . Maybe a little bit of sniffles and aches here and there got lar , but never this bad . And I remember the last time I got as sick as this (or worse) was years ago when I was studying for my Diploma .

So what does that tell U ? School kills !! :( Doesn't help that my CC is insane !! F*cking freaking insane !! Setting us all the bloody unrealistic goals and deadlines . Juz because she herself is so knowledgable (gotta give her credit for that) and freaking hyper-efficient , doesn't mean ALL earthlings are the same wat . WTF ?! And when we verbalise to her that we are 'drowning' , she'll juz f*cking nonchalently go , "No choice . This is what your hospitals wanted (that the course be shrunk from 11 months to 8 months) . When you all go back (as in after graduation) , you must feedback this to your hospitals . I myself do not approve of the course being cut short ." So f*cking unfeeling !!! No words of sincere concern . Seems like all the younger CCs are like tat ! Go and rot in hell U people ! KNN !! We're here to get some knowledge , NOT lose our health and minds , mind you .

Thankfully it's break week tis week (25/02/08 - 02/03/08) . But we have like 2 assignments to hand in , 3 tests coming up and a few presentations . :'( Soooo ..... haizzz .

Erm , ya , I got 5 babies in all . :D Those at HOME tat is . Feeding about 10 community cats daily as well . Hope the numbers stop there . Really have no more energy and heart space for additional worries and heartache , shud anymore come along . :( Sorry to say . But itz really mind-challenging & heart-breaking , U know ? To wonder if U'll get to see them running to U during feeding times . Or tat they've been abused , killed or rounded up by the blardy authorities overnight due to unfeeling , zero-tolerence humans . Bah ! Shouldn't call them humans ! They're not fit to be termed humans . Beasts is also too good a name for them ! Imbeciles maybe ? Haha ! Anywayzzz ...

Pretty Genie !! :D If U guys & gals remember a post I made some time back , about my community cats ? Genie used to be 1 . Together wif Silver ? Heh ! Both of them are now mine !! All mine !! :D Safe at home wif me and moi family . Enjoying the safe shelter and lotsa love from us . Really wish to take in ALL my community cats as well , but aye , space constraints . Like wad da Mum says , dun let us strike 4D some day ah . Sure will upgrade to a bigger place and take in ALL of them . Heh ! *prays hard* :D

Then : An unhappy kitten . Wondering herself whether she'll survive each passing day . :'( Tis pic was taken by H when she was at her place some 2 years back ? Recovering post sterilisation .

Then : 16th October 2007 - Dad found the poor gal at the foot of a neighbouring block , bleeding & barely alive . Likely thrown or pushed from the block (as she likes to go up) , judging from the injuries she suffered . Or abused by some f*cking bloke . She suffered serious head injuries (1 of her pupils was dilated) and the vet gave her a 50-50 chance of survival . Was prepared to lose her and even wanted to put her down , as she was really in pain and moaning in discomfort , but Mum insisted on giving her a chance . She also had a broken tooth , bruised tongue , strained ligament to 1 of her front paws , a wound on her butt & bleeding from her mouth and rear .

Then : Spent almost a week in hospital under drip & observation . There was really nothing much the vet could have done , really , but to juz observe and hope for the best . The darling had quite some visitors during her stay . From H , my family & even some kind residents from our neighbourhood , who knew and loved her . Lotsa others also asked about her well-being , after knowing about her ordeal through some posters we put up , seeking witnesses . She was a likable community cat lah , and I really can't imagine any piece of shit who would wanna harm her . And I really wanna thank all kind donors (many okay !!) who generously took care of her hospitalisation bills . There are still some kind people out there who have earned some good karma wif their kindness and love for all sentient beings . :)

Now : To cut the long story short . Genie has since recovered , not fully though , due to the permanent damage from her brain injury . She still walks wif a slight limp and loses her balance at times and always flops to her right side , but is wayyyy better than when she was DIL (dangerously ill list . Wad ??? I'm a medical staff mah . Stop sniggering lah , Sammy ! I saw tat ! :D) And acoording to H & her daughter A , the baby looks much happier and contented now . But sometimes I catch her gazing out of the windows wistfully . Muz be missing her grass smelling and bird stalking days . I'm sorry my dear , those days are over . Itz too harsh a world out there . And I tink she knows better . 'Coz now she is able to purr , someting she has never done before when she was a community cat . The funny gal is also becoming cheeky (NOT chee-ko-pek way lah , I meant like naughty & teasy ?) these days . Can go and disturb the others some more . And she is very attached to Dad . The best ting is Dad , who is not a cat person , has a soft spot for her oso ! Ha ! They can actually doze off in front of the TV together . Quite a funny sight . :D

Met an old friend a couple of days ago in my ward . :D Finally got to see him , thank goodness for some Cardio referrals , after knowing that he got posted back to my hospital recently . It's been like phewww , 2 years plus , since I last saw him ? Now a black-tagger leh , dun play play . :D

His first words to me were , "Eh ? U're here now ah ?" &

"你变美了 !!" :D

He repeated that twice in earnest and wif a sincere tone & look . I'm truly pleased , to receive such sweet compliments from a good looker himself .

But me this ugly duckling will ever change into a swan 1 meh ? Maybe can lar , change into a better looking duck , but still a duckie lor . ;D

Dearest Mandy ,

I remember 3 horrid Thursdays ago at around this time , I was at our workplace's A&E with some other gals from the ward , looking at you lying on the trolley with disbelief & tears & lotsa heartache . You were still beautiful (U ALWAYS WILL BE) and you looked like you were sleeping , but the saddest fact is that U've left us forever . :'(

It's very very hard to accept tat U're gone , U know ? Juz like tat . Especially when I juz saw U on that week's Monday nite (2 nites before the tragic RTA), after our PM shift . U were getting ready to board your boyfren's bike , and as usual , we made childish digs at one another . :) I wish I had stayed on to chat longer with you , or juz irritate U more , but we were all tired and wanted to get home faster . And I'll forever remember & treasure in my heart the last goodbye wave you gave me , when you and your boyfren rode past me on the stretch of road outside A&E . Thank you so much for bothering to turn back your lovely face & give me that cool wave wif your cheeky smile . Now when I think of it , it's as though U knew somehow that I'll never get to see U again , hence the final goodbye . :'(

I'll also forever cherish the few brief moments we had together . At the silly SBAR talk , where we were talking shit and about your future plans after your bond , instead of listening to the trainers . :) And how U 'garang-ly' said both of us quickly volunteer to present the case-study , so as to get over and done with it . U were cartoon as usual lar . And sorry I lost U after the talk as I had to get back to my ward quickly . I didn't even say goodbye or realise till much later . :( Paiseh .

You were just a little girl . U had your very sweet moments , amidst your 'ah-lian-ness' . :) Very manja sometimes but not those irritating type . :) U had a tough and cool exterior , but actually U had lotsa sensible plans and aspirations that put me and lotsa others to shame . Really lor , very impressed with the way U had mapped out your life , but alas , all was not meant to be . :'( Will always remember how U messaged me after my transfer , to voice your worries on whether U'll be a good nurse & I told U U'd definitely be . And also , U left me a testimonial in my Friendster account last year , saying U missed having me around in the ward and wished I was back . I was , U know ? The week after U left us forever , I was back for 1 week to help out , but U were not there anymore . :'( I really wish I dun ever have the chance to go back , if that can exchange for your well-being .:'(

I'm juz glad to have known U this life , Mandy . Even though we didn't know each other very well or worked together for long , I'm truely thankful for your friendship . I hope you're happy and relieved from all sufferings over the other side . I know U'll be watching over all of us from the skies and I want U to know that U're dearly missed . :'(

I can actually glue myself to the TV and complete a whole set of DVDs within like 2-3 days or till the TV set explodes . See which one happens 1st . Finishing House M.D. - Season 3 soon . Can't wait for Season 4 to air in the U.S. (this month end) and the DVD to be produced , so that I can get my hands on them . Love this serial +++ . As I was saying , 1st night shift ending soon . Can't wait for it to be over . Hate night shifts . Only like the money that comes with it . Not that it's alot , but better than nothing . Haizzz , starting to feel the importance of Vitamin M ($$ lah) these days . Maybe I'm getting older and wiser ? With the number of mouths I gotta feed , I have to , I guess . Remember some moons back in July , I met up with Mum and my Aunty Siew Lan for lunch and shopping ? Well , that was my 'damage' for the day . Tee hee hee ! But it was $ well spent . Managed to snag lotsa good buys and further discounts (and I mean real FURTHER discounts , k !) , thanx to the Aunt . It was also during the period of the Great Singapore Sale , which I usually dun bother to heed , but with the Aunt around , there's juz no stopping her , AND me . :D Yesh ! As U can see , I'm a real Crocs fan lah , so had to get 2 pairs of their super comfy shoes . Really think that Crocs are the bestest invention of this century . Bite me ! Especially with their increasing production of pretty , feminine styles , Ranz will juz keep getting poorer AND her collection of shoes one day will consist of nothing but Crocs . :D

Also some moons way back in July , my workplace had this Civil Emergency exercise . Serious stuff , got reporters somemore . And got 1 Minister also . But ayeee , din manage to snap his pic .

Bah !! Was interrupted by Dr. N. . He was fuming mad . Okayyy , not tat bad lah , juz fume-y . And know wat ? I wun blame him . 'Coz some idiots juz can't follow instructions , nor see the importance and significance of doctors' orders one U know ?! Yah no doubt some doctors have weird orders but they are still doctors AND orders ! Blehh !! 'Nuff said .

Some snippets of my standby duty on NDP Preview day . Well , nothing much loh . Juz tat the bigger and more 'prestigious' hospitals got to be on site of the parade , while we 'earthlings' had to be stationed at ulu Kallang Stadium CARPARK . :( And we were NOT told of tat beforehand , so can U imagine how 'prepared' we were in terms of entertainment ? Bah ! Almost died of boredom . There was a point where we juz sat sadly in the ambulance and stared at one another . Stop laughing lah ! We really had nothing to do mah . But thank goodness the company was pretty good tat day . Wif the 2 sporting doctors , who joined us 4 crazy missys in rounds and rounds of 'chua-dai-dee' (13 cards ?) . They kept losing though . Hahahaha ! Could have made a pile off them . Anyway , at least the supply of food was okay , but it was really really boring loh . Was definitely more prepared on the actual NDP day standby . Even managed to sneak away to the Waterfront to watch the lovely fireworks . Shall post the pics and hopefully the video which I took , someday . Ah kakaka !! :D

The Army & Civil Defence were on standby with us too .

A much happier Silver Baby . So manja these days . She'll join Baby Miu Miu and sit at the top of the flight of stairs and meow the house down till someone comes to give them kibbles OR a hug . Pfffft ..! *rolls eyes*

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO ...!!!

Yesh yesh yesh , I'm still very much alive lah . Haven't die yet . U wish (;p) , well , I wish though , right now that is . Juz xianz with my f*cked up , boring , penniless life . Wish I can have loads of $$$ . Think I'll be much much happier then . $$$ really can do wonders , for me at least . Haizzzz ... But no matter how hard I work , there's juz tat much I can earn . Wretched job and life . Bah ! Juz when will the both of it end ??!! And neah my friends , don't bother introducing me to some sales or investments 'lobangs' , or gambling or 4D or To-To . Not interested and cannot make it . But I don't mind doing anything pet or Nursing related . And don't worry , I'm too lazy to go kill myself . Haha !! But dun be surprised if I get killed on the road or something , while day-dreaming on how to get rich . Muahaha ..! Haizzz , ignore me , juz muttering rubbish as usual . :(

Anyway , like I said , U can't expect much from a boring life . So let the pictures do the walking and talking okay ?

First up , my pretty pretty N95 in Sand . Finally got it on 20/06/2007 . Hehehe !! Didn't really intend to get it so soon lah . But juz blinded by the temptation and the super good offer . Excuses excuses , Ranz . Anyway , wat happened was tat I finally went to subscribe for Singtel's Mio tingy on that 'fateful' day . Then the silly regulation was tat I could purchase a new handset at a super low price (as if I juz signed up for a brand new line like tat) , but I die-die have to get it on tat day itself . :( Tried begging for a few days' grace but uh-uh , no means no . So I bot it wif a heavy heart . So heart pain leh . Not over the $715 spent lah , but feel sad for my faithful N6280 . Not even 1 year old and the owner go find 'new love' liao . :p Luckily I'll be passing her over to mum . Hope my mum treats her well . My N6280 is a good gal U know , never fail me one . Provided my boring life with lotsa entertainment . Dear N6280 , U'll be missed by Ranz .

Talking about 'new love' , hehehe , 'hum3-sup4' (courtesy of Mum and meaning cheeky in Cantonese) me really found a 'new-love' . Well , not really new lah . How to say , 'found-again love' ? :D Presenting to U :

Pweety Silver (heyya Lawrence , I found her back !!) . Anywayz , to cut the long story short , Silver was one of my community cats (cats that I'm feeding near my block) . Well , she got 'abducted' by some puney , irritating kids a few months back ('coz she's so friendly , trusting AND pretty) and those idiots juz don't understand what is to leave things at where they took it from one U know ?! They 'relocated' the poor thing all the way to another block of flats , across a big main road , away from H and my family who love her dearly and not to mention , away from her familiar surroundings and her fren Genie . Bah !! We all tot she was gone for good U know ? And we were juz praying and praying to Kwan Yin and the Buddha everyday , hoping that she was safe and happy wherever she was . Maybe our prayers touched their hearts or wat or as fate permitted , I found the darling 3 weeks after she went missing . 3 weeks U know !! Oh gawd ! I was in disbelief when I found her . Dunno wassit the rite cat or not 'coz it was night time , couldn't really see clearly . But once she did her kneading motion , I knew it had to be her . *Sobs* I carried her all the way back to H's place and H was juz as overwhelmed to see her again . Okay okay , cut short cut short ya ? H couldn't house her forever and I couldn't bear to make Silver disappointed at being homeless again , so I begged Mum to keep her . Guess wad , by the luck of all the lucky stars in the universe , Mum agreed !! :o Guess Mum also couldn't bear to 'see-dead-don't-save' (jian4 si3 bu2 jiu4 in Chinese - meaning ignoring someone , or in this case , somecat in need of help) , hence , Silver is now a happy , kept cat with a proper home . :D Finally !! Well , all my other cats were not too happy initially . But it's since been 3 weeks , and they're all more cordial now . As long as each of them keeps to their own breathing space , I won't see any 'sparks' and fluff flying around . :D Hope they'll learn to get along better lah .

Even Kathy decided to fry herself in protest to the new addition to the family ? Haha !! :D No lah . Juz that this funny cat loves to contort herself INTO anything left within her reach . Big boxes , small baskets , plastic bags , now frying pan also can . And the best thing is , she can ALWAYS fit snugly into anyting . Haizzz ... Wish I had her body . Okay , enuf of cats for now okay ? For now only ah .

Some colleagues are going to drop by for a visit this Friday (27/07/2007) . Me got something on , so wun be able to join them . Talking about babies , my ward is kindda like a blessed fertile ground or something :D . After Yan Xia and Rohani (who also delivered a pretty baby gal rite after Yan Xia) , the stork decided to drop more 'seeds' on 3 other colleagues !! *Gasp* Making it a grand total of 5 new mothers and mothers-to-be in Ward 17 within a year+ !! Neah ! Me not tempted at all . Prefer my cats and $$$ . Maybe getting influenced by my Mum , who always say that children are a liability , I AM her liability . Oh well , no comments . I didn't ask to be born , not to her at least . Blehh !

Siti babe's cat at our workplace . Hey gal , dun nid to feed her alot each time lah . Saw a lady last nite (23/07/2007) feeding a few cats near A&E , even though it was raining . Sure your cat will also be fed lah . :D So touched that there are other like-minded Singaporeans around the island .

Attended Rai babe's wedding on 15/07/2007 . OMG !! So good to see her and the others from NSC !! Missed them ++ . Brought back fond memories of my short stint there . Hehehe . Anywayz :

We were worried that we wouldn't be able to find the right place of the wedding . Hahaha !! But we didn't need to search hard 'coz this decor was juz 'screaming' to us that we've found the right place . Why ? 'Coz EVERYTHING was PURPLE !! Hahaha !! Like we owe it to her like tat . Calling us on the dot to remind my partner to go over and help her ward . Wait lah ! Mai kan-cheong lah !

Was reading through one of my fren's fren's blog juz now . Upset to read about her devastating entry about the demise of her darling doggie . :'( Wat supposed to be a harmless routine at the groomer's ended up in tragedy . Shit sia ! Those responsible for the death shud juz be shot dead . I wonder wat really happened . Muz tell my mum not to send Bibi boy for grooming anymore , and remind myself to stop offering to pay for her to do tat . I remember seeing how some rough idiots mishandle the dogs , but they always say that itz the way to control them . Ya rite ! I grab and shove those idiots by their ears and noses and say tatz my way of communicating with them can or not ? Bah ! Anyway , my deepest sympathy & condolences to tat doggie's family . :'( Really dunno wat to say sia .

Yippeee , juz started my 1 week's AL yesterday (07/05/2007) .

But alas , not a good start to my AL 'coz I'm down wif GE . :( Muz be due to the lousy self-made breakfast I had yesterday morning itself . Was trying to clear out the fridge mah . :p So I whipped up a yucky fried rice with leftover rice (dunno how many days old) , ham , egg and tomato sauce . Didn't taste too bad initially but nearing the end of it , I started to feel nauseous . Didn't think too much of it and juz washed it all down with some iced Milo . In about half-an-hour , I started to feel really gross . Tore myself away from the TV and forced myself to get some sleep . Didn't help that da parents are away in Genting again , leaving poor suffering moi to be home alone AND having to entertain an irritating phonecall from mum's ex-boss . Blehh !! Was about to doze off again , then Pacific Internet had to call me to confirm the termination of my account with them . : Managed to sleep till early afternoon but by then I was really feeling like crap . Damn nauseous and the tummy pains and diarrhoea started . :( *Sobs* Popped a Lomotil & Buscopan before getting some more snooze . Hee ! Sounds piggy I know , but to me , sleep is the best medicine . :D Anywayz , woke up at 5pm+ , showered and went out to feed my dear community cats . Feeling whoozy and light-headed all the way but kept telling myself to soldier on . Have to tink of my dear cats mah . Anyway , managed to complete my feeding rounds and got home safely . Breaking out in cold sweat by then and super nauseous . Running a slight fever also . :( Drank a whole load of warm water and popped in a Dimenhydrinate (Mum's motion sickness pills) for the icky nausea . Wud have swallowed a Maxalon but I dun have any da . :p Better start reloading my 'E-Kit' soon . Tatz the problem wif medical staff . We juz tend to self medicate when we fall sick . :p My bad my bad . Anywayz , went back to bed after tat and slept like a baby , oh well not really lah , till tis morning . Felt tonnes better . Still having some diarrhoea but at least the nausea & tummy cramps were more or less gone . So was the fever . Yay ! But while brushing my teeth , dunno which nerve I activated , I actually puked out small amounts of ...*drumrolls*... YESTERDAY MORNING's Milo !!! Oh my gawd . Super gross . But felt like some instant relief loh . Like I managed to puke out watever remnant 'poison' I had in my stomach like tat . Hahaha !! Watching too much sword-fighting serials lah Ranz ! :D Anyway , really feel much better now . Even managed to down a whole bowl of self-made (again) plain porridge soup . :D Yay ! At least the appetite is coming back . Imagine , after yesterday's icky breakfast , I totally lost interest in food till tis AM . Even the thought of food and the sight of it on TV made me sick . It was tat bad okay ! But now , I'm starting to have cravings for plain stuff like steamed fish and porridge . *Sobs* Mummy , where are U ? :( Hahaha !! Not tat bad lah , the most lazy me can order some delivery wif DABAO.SG or something . Hey Sammy , check out tat site . Next time we got more choices for our meals le . Yay !! :D

Well , some super back-dated photos I took when I went for a HMDP expert's talk on infection control in NUS on 19/04/2007 . Ya ya ! I told U it was super back-dated rite ?

The talk was held at the auditorium of NUS's Clinical Research Centre in the Faculty of Medicine . Felt very privileged to have the chance to even set my foot in NUS . *Sighs wistfully* Next life ba Ranz . But I have to add , itz really a hassle to get to NUS . Really pity the staff and students having to get there daily . That pathetic bus-stop at Buona Vista ! OMG ! Nearly fainted among the crowd . Fainted from disgust that is . I'm not really a people person , U get wat I mean ? I dun like having to jostle wif fellow humans for walking and breathing space lah . Grrr , told U I AM a hermit .

The school I'd very much like to study in . *Sighs wistfully again* :(

Tummy growling from hunger now . Been more than 24 hours since I last took anyting solid . Really craving for steamed fish , dunno why . Anyway , on a lighter note , my sinusitis-ed nose is much better . :D Yay ! Managed to regain my sense of smell & taste for coming to 3 weeks le . *Touchwood* Thanx to Dr. Chan K.O. & his prescription of Aerius tablets . Hee !

Finally got my ...*dramatic drumrolls* ... Philips Portable DVD Player .

Yay ! Sooooo ... happy with him . Isn't Philip a hunk ? Love him dearly . Got him from Courts at a rather good price ($259) . Considering he's 'branded' . Now I've got even more reasons to glue myself to my bed and room . Hehehe !!

Okay , gotta get ready for evening feeding time for the community cats le . And also beta tink of wat to have for dinner . Starting to feel gastric-ky and hypoglycemic le . :p Being home alone when you're sick really sucks . :( *Haizzz* Anywayz , a bo-liao pic before I go .
